Pole Mounting is often used for the installation of PV (photovoltaic) panels, but now Canadian based Apricus Distributor, Generation PV have begun using this method for the installation of Apricus solar collectors.

The first installation using this method was completed by Generation PV the end of June 06, alongside a PV panel.

Pole mounting has a number of advantages:
- Can easily position to both desired angle and orientation.
- Keeps collector up clear from snow layer (in cold regions)
- Easy to install; no climbing on the roof.
- Well insulated underground pipe run
